What the calculator does
It performs the same concentration arithmetic as any reconstitution calculator: concentration (mg/mL) = mass (mg) / diluent volume (mL), then converts a target amount into milliliters and U-100 syringe units. It is a unit-conversion and record-keeping tool. It does not tell you how much to administer, and any decision involving a prescription medication belongs with a licensed prescriber.
How to read the output
Enter the vial mass and the water volume, and the calculator returns the mg/mL concentration; enter a target amount and it returns the corresponding mL and syringe units. The numbers describe what a volume contains, expressed two ways so you can cross-check them. They are not a recommendation.
Common mistakes (math, not medical)
- Confusing total vial mass with concentration — concentration depends on the water volume you add.
- Reading units as milliliters — a U-100 syringe shows 100 units per mL; the two differ by 100x.
- Re-using an old concentration after a different fill — recompute whenever the diluent volume changes.
